Bad News For Phuket Private Aircraft

In an about face, Phuket's much talked about niche in catering to high net worth individuals with private aircraft looks to be in jeopardy.
As reported in the Bangkok Post a ban has been in place for two years for overnight parking at the main airport.
During the interim period the adjacent Royal Navy area has been used.
Now safety concerns have been citied and the Plan B is no longer an option.
Neither Krabi or Surat Thani are able to provide overnight facilities.
At a time Phuket should be looking at growing it's luxury market, It seems AoT is favoring a mainstream operating model.
It's high time either a long term plan to expand the Phuket airport or else create a second facility in Phang Nga as a long term solution to sustainable growth.
