Bangkok Airways Changes Samui's Course

Category: Tourism, Posted:26 Dec 2013 | 06:00 am

Thailand's resort island destination remains firmly under the influence of Bangkok Airways who control the private airport and a considerably amount of the passenger traffic.
Over the past 12-18 months we've seen the airline upgrade some of the aircraft servicing the routes from propeller driven ATR-72's to Airbus jets.
Recently the airline was in the news that it would acquire six new ATR next generation propeller aircraft. This will be the ATR-72-600's.
At the same time on a positive spin, Bangkok Airways is also looking at modernizing its jet fleet with leading candidates being Airbus A-320's, Bombardier CS300's or Boeing 737's.
