Bangkok Hospital Buys Phuket Competitor

According to a filing with the Stock Exchange of Thailand, the listed Bangkok Dusit Medical Hospital (BGH) has acquired the entire business of Phuket International Hospital.
The transaction is valued at THB3.6 billon in cash and THB416 million in shares of the company.
While the sale is expected to be finalized before year end, the process still involved due diligence.
Long time residents still call PIH under its previous name Siriroj Hospital.
Bad news may be on the horizon for those who patronized the institution given Bangkok Phuket's higher pricing structure.
