BREAKING NEWS US Embassy Bangkok Evacuating Non Essential Staff

As a sign of the rapidly deteriorating political violence in Bangkok the US State Department has released a statement which says it will allow non-essential US personnel and their dependents to leave Bangkok if they chose due to escalating violence.
Continuing that US citizens should defer all travel to Bangkok and defer all non-essential travel to the rest of Thailand. The Department of State has authorized the departure of all non-emergency US Government personnel and eligible family members from Bangkok.
Obviously Phuket falls into the travel warning for non-essential travel to Thailand and will see an impact from the now heightened state of travel advisories.
