Canadian Barrister Ken Brookes Passes Away In UK

Well known Phuket resident Ken Brookes has passed away in hospital in London at
the age of 67.
His wife Lori was accompanying him on a holiday, when Ken fell ill.
Both Ken and Lori are best known for the successful Art and Culture publishing
business and lived in Rawai for a number of years.
Born Kenneth J A Brookes in the UK and later moving to Canada, he graduated from
Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Halifax with a law degree. He held
memberships in Canada's Bar Association, Nova Scotia Barristers Association and
the Canadian Real Estate Association.
After moving to Phuket Ken who was an avid sailor worked in the yachting industry and later as an associate with Sam Fauma at the International Law Office.
Deciding to take some time out in the past year and enjoy time sailing, Ken and
Lori moved to Ao Po, on the East Coast.
This writer is proud to have known him over the past decade on the island, and his
sharp wit, intelligence, generosity and love of his wife make for a rich and
lasting memory.
Ken leaves behind his wife Lori, a son Geoff living in UK with wife Doreen and son Jonathan, his brother Peter in Cape Breton Nova Scotia, Canada and many friends in Phuket and abroad who will miss him greatly.
Ken wished for a cremetation which will be held in the UK as follows:
