As the world gets smaller and warmer, one of the regions smallest nations Bhutan is struggled with a carbon neutral policy. Long known for its philosophy on Gross National Happiness, as development is setting in the temptations of modernization are becoming more apparent.
While keen efforts have been focused on protects it's forests and natural environment, a growing reliance on motor vehicles is creating an imbalance between objectives of climate change and those of financial necessity. Poverty continues to dominate the social system of progress. .
As the country moves higher into the cycle the challenges of going green continue to spark both debate and one of increasing awareness for its population.
