Daniel Muery Bids Farewell to The Chedi

Category: Hotels, Posted:30 Sep 2009 | 19:11 pm

After 7 years in the post General Manager Daniel Muery closed out his tenure at The Chedi Phuket today. I spoke to him by phone this afternoon and he took a moment to wax poetically commenting 'just how many good memories he came across cleaning out his desk and that the time had passed so quickly.”
As one of the longer serving hotel executives on the island I recall a number of years before when a mutual friend was going to introduce us and said “you have to meet Daniel Chedi.” I was simply amazed how the luxury beach resort could find someone with the same last name as the hotel, or was it one of those Ramone things where you had to take on the family name to join in the organization?
Well starting tomorrow Daniel is back to being a private citizen. When I asked him what's next, he said “I'm taking a short break and will be back in Phuket to view some options and opportunities.” Whether these are here or somewhere else certainly Daniel is a throwback to the days of the Gentlemen Hotelier, and he's been a gracious host to visitors and locals alike. Bon voyage Daniel Muery and happy landings.

Inside the Numbers. The Potential of a Phuket Property Bubble

Category: Real estate, Posted:13 Apr 2024 | 13:12 pm One of the most common questions I am asked these days is about a potential Phuket real estate bubble. The most notable real estate bubble in recent history was the subprime housing crisis in the United States […]
