Disappearing Australian Real Estate

Author: Bill Barnett. Category: Green. Posted: 9th Aug 2012

For most there is little doubt about the proof of rising sea levels and increasing heat waves as an impact from global warming.

Lately a number of news stories have emerged about coastal shorelines in Australia eroding and putting high value real estate at risk.

Increasingly severe storms, massing flooding and a shift upwards of sea levels are attributed to the phenomenon.

One article places the Australian' government's forecast that $226 billion in various property grades could be lost by 2100.

In certain other one prime locations, beachfront property which once commanded multi-million dollar values has now sharply declined due to vanishing chunks of land front the sea.

Certainly other South Pacific nations are facing similar issues and in the case of many there is simply no opportunity to head for the hills, as there aren't any.
