FABULOCITY Bali Brings 'The Private Hotel'

Category: Hotels, Posted:27 Jul 2011 | 06:00 am

Forget luxury reports or private posh villas, Bali's Luna2 is creating a niche as a Private Hotel.
Beachfront in Seminyak near to Ku De Ta the five bedroom property rents out for a cool USD4,000 a night.
With 26 staff, the hotel is the brainchild of Stuart and Melanie Hall. Melanie who led the concept and design used to work for global brands Polo Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein.
A funky yet soulful aesthetic is featured including Philip Starck cube toilets and Ghost chairs.
Manager and Executive Chef Danny Drinkwater previously headed up the culinary operations at the Park Hyatt in Sydney which is most noted for the Tony Chi designed harbor kitchen&bar.
Two fulltime private chefs are on call breakfast, lunch and dinner and a well stocked wine cellar is a stellar facility.
With high occupancy the team is developing the nearby Luna2 studios which will open by the middle of next year. Fourteen smaller units with mod cons come complete with restaurant and a member's only nightspot.
Word is the Luna Private Hotel brand is on the move and expanding further afield in the near future.
Leaving the property, I was offered a ride in one of the waiting Lunamobiles, indeed the offering here is seamlessly cool.
