GHM Forced Out Of Luxury Setai Hotel

Category: Hotels, Posted:04 Apr 2012 | 10:07 am

There is a big buzz going on in hospitality circles over the forced removal of Singapore-based GHM at the Setai in Miami's South Beach.
A recent early morning action by the hotel owners reportedly using armed security guards forced the hotel operator to vacate the premises.
GHM which is associated with uber luxury hotelier Adrian Zecha and is well known for its Chedi brand has now taken a high profile media offensive.
Hans Jenni who is President of GHM has issued a statements to the press saying that the company has a contractual obligation and was not consulted in the matter.
The ownership group which is associated to Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. has said it has initiated international arbitration and has installed a new management group into the property – Trevi Luxury Hospitality Group.
Expect to hear more on this high profile fight over management rights and the impact it may have in similar cases around the world.
GHM formerly operated the Chedi (now The Surin) in Phuket and had been under contract for what will now be Point Yamu by Como.
