Greater Phuket AMCHAM Heritage Tourism Event
Phuket PR Network and Amcham's Greater Phuket Chapter are joining forces to hold another collaborative event as part of the 'Identifying and Marketing Brand Phuket' series. This event is aims to generate excitement and curiosity about Phuket's colourful and diverse history, specifically its Paranakan roots and 'shop house' communities.
The Culture & Heritage event will take place at The Blue Elephant Restaurant in Phuket Town Friday 5 October 2012 at 6pm. Dr. Yongtanit Pimonsathean from the Faculty of Architecture and Planning at Thammasat University, Bangkok will be the main expert guest speaker. He will discuss Phuket Town's quest for UNESCO status and how this intertwines with the core values of 'Brand Phuket'.
AMCHAM's Phuket Chapter's co-committee leader and Managing Director of C9 Hotelworks Bill Barnett comments," Tourism trends are rapidly changing and evolving. Phuket's ability to shift and create market niches is incredibly important to attract new visitors. Culture and art are leading trends, even if our marketplace shifts to more regional visitors this event should highlight some of the island's strong DNA to tap into."
Event Organiser, Natasha Eldred, Managing Director of Shine PR Phuket says, "It's important to understand the history of Phuket Town better. For those of us who work in marketing Phuket's tourism attractions, it is vital to spread interesting and positive messages about Phuket to international and national media".
