Green Airports Start To Catch On

While we hope for the best that Phuket's new airport expansion will have some green focus, it's encouraging to view Singapore's Changi as setting a global standard.
Energy consumption and taking off the load off the grid is one key initiative at the Island Republic's aviation gateway.
One feature of Terminal 3 is a 9-hectare roof, which controls sunlight and in effect reduces the air-conditioning load.
A second benefit is the ability to turn down the lights during the day, which limits energy consumption.
