GUEST SURVEY 42% of Travelers Prefer Turndown Sleeping Pill

Category: Hotels, Posted:30 Aug 2009 | 09:38 am

A news item came across my desk from Starwood's Westin hotel brand who creating the infamous 'heavenly bed' which set a new benchmark for today's increasingly more sophisticated nocturnal experience. The global hospitality brand recently completed a new survey amongst travelers with some surprising results –
42% said they'd rather has a sleeping pill left at turn down on their pillow then those little wrapped chocolates.
51% would choose a good nights sleep to sex. Amazingly enough the majority of those voting for sleep were men, while woman chose sex over sleep.
57% conclude an excellent hotel bed is preferred for a good night sleep versus their own crib at home.
61% responded that technology i.e. iPods', iPhone's and Blackberry's make strange bedfellows and hinder rather then help restful sleep.
For those of you who travel, today's custom beds, duvet's, 800 count sheets and pillow menus make counting sheep a much more enjoyable experience then the old school traditional sagging mattress and discolored bed cover of the past.
