Ian Schrager Starts Two New Hotel Brands

Category: Hotels, Posted:15 Jan 2011 | 06:00 am

Legendary hotelier Ian Schrager has created two new hotel brands but this time with a twist.
Instead of days past when acting as a hotel management company this time around there is skin in the game.
Taking a role as owner/operator the umbrella for the venture is named Schrager Hotels.
Perhaps as a sign of America's chronic recession and drive for more modest spending both brands are targeting a value for money good night's sleep.
While style and design remain cornerstones, the first is aimed at an upscale clientele which borders on luxury while the other is a broader mid tier proposition in key CBD centers.
Schrager has been quoted in the press that Asia lays in the group's expansionary horizon.
