IHG Names New Development Head For Asia

InterContinental Hotels Group has Rajit Sukumaran as Chief Development Officer for Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA).

He was most recently Vice President of Acquisitions and Development for Starwood Hotels and Resorts.

In the current spate of global mergers and acquisitions IHG is under extreme pressure from shareholders to maintain the pace of growth despite moving to a asset light approach.

Sukumaran succeeds Clarence Tan, who had taken over from Paul Logan who held the position for a number of years.
