India's Aerocity Hotel Catastrophe

For those who think the expansion of Phuket's airport is poorly planned, one only has to look abroad at India's New Delhi Aerocity debacle to see that life is not always better on the other side.
The Aerocity complex was intended to house a number of both international and domestic geared hotels. Two properties have been completed and now are unable to commence operations due to government security concerns.
While the government approved the entire complex a number of years ago, the policy continue to cite security issues and the proximity to the airport runway. The ensuing stalemate continues to have hoteliers scratching their heads over incredible India.
