Koh Samui Escapes The Box

Category: Hotels, Posted:21 Dec 2018 | 16:22 pm

Two new developments in Koh Samui have caught my eye, and best epitomize how the Thai resort island’s strong boutique brand offering excels at niche products.

First, is villa specialists Elite Havens acquisition of twelve luxury units under Silk Properties.

The addition will see marketing and management come under EH, who earlier this year were acquired by Dusit International.

Elite is continuing a strong regional expansion with their new Niseko office now open for high-season on the alpine snow destination.

Next is the debut of posh hostel brand Lub d in Chaweng.

Aside from 124 units in their upscale attraction to experience oriented travelers, the Koh Samui offering has a strong social offering with a floating DJ booth, beachside restaurant and games hub.

This is now the sixth property for the fast expanding Lub d group.

Koh Samui’s luxury, wellness and niche properties continue to outperform the broader hotel sector, and tap into the small island vibe that is part of its unique Robinson Crusoe appeal.
