Koh Samui Flights Resume. Phuket Remains Closed

Bangkok Airways reopened air service between the resort island of Koh Samui and Bangkok yesterday on a limited service basis.

Phuket International Airport which was cleared to reopen today, 16th May was subsequently ordered to stay closed yesterday by the CAAT (Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand) until further notice.

The reversal on the reopening of the gateway airport has caused more economic stress to Phuket given no clear notice of opening has been provided.

While Thailand’s airports and infrastructure slowly restart, Phuket continues to anxiously wait.
