Krabi's Phulay Bay Ritz-Carlton Gearing Up to Open
The international chain's first newly launched Ritz -Carton Reserve properties is preparing to open the 3rd quarter of this year at Phulay Bay according to General Manager Estelita Sebeto. With 54 one bedroom villas, the designs have been done by leading Thai architect Lek Bunnag. In a much anticipated and often delayed opening, the property is owned by the leading Thai businessman Piya Bhirombhakdi (Singha Beer).
Located within easy driving distance of both Krabi and Phuket international airports the resort looks to give some stern competition to the existing luxury plays such as Amanpuri, Trisara and Banyan Tree. Located in Klong Muang district other international and regional chains with hotels there include Sheraton, Sofitel and Amari. Many industry watchers are looking to see what points of differentiation will be done by Ritz into these type of smaller more personalized resorts that the Reserve brand is targeting.
