Lifestyle Retreats Managing Bangtao Resort Bundarika

Category: Hotels, Posted:16 Aug 2011 | 06:00 am

A Singapore -based hotel management group has taken over operations of the boutique Bundarika Resort with 47 private pool villas and 30 suites on Layan at the northern end of Bangtao Bay.
Lifestyle Retreats also run the award winning The Bale in Nusa Dua, The Amala and The Menjangan on the Indonesian resort island of Bali.
Longtime executive Jose Luis Calle, Managing Director of the group, is personally overseeing the repositioning and upgrading of the Phuket oceanfront resort.
Smaller upscale pool villa resorts are increasingly becoming more popular as can be seen with Aleenta just over the Sarasin bridge, Sala and Anantara in Mai Khao, Pavilions in Layan, Impiana Private Villas and The Shore at Katathani.
Another new entry will be The Naka in Nakalay which is currently under construction. As customer demand is increasingly placing pool villas high on the wish list of travelers, this segment is cutting into the traditional upscale institutional resort market of large branded hotel room only properties.
