Luxury Brand Hermes Spearheads Sustainable Yacht

Category: , Posted:05 Dec 2009 | 13:15 pm

A venture between leading luxury icon Hermes and Monaco based yachting group Wally have resulted in the new 'WHY' sustainable lifestyle yacht. Featuring a 25 meter seawater swimming pool and providing full energy management, using solar electricity and a telescopic wine-turbine system with retractable mast, the yacht is both environmentally focused and offers a luxury villa experience at sea.
While the conceptual design has been in testing for 6 months and set only in a hull with no superstructure, the boat resembles some sort of alien landing craft within it's span of 58 meters in length. Recycling has also been fully integrated along with waste disposal. Plans call for the movement from conceptual to actual product moving forward and it will be intriguing to see a roll out of an oceangoing craft.
