Middle East Hubs Eye Asia

South East Asia has long been a key airline hub been east and west. Two airports in particular, Singapore's Changi and Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi continue to capture significant market share.
Over the past few years the development of airports in the Middle East in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and even Muscat have developed significant infrastructure.
This has been packaged with the regions carriers Emirates, Qatar, Etihad and others becoming prominent players.
Last year's alliance between Australian legacy airline Qantas and Emirates struck a strong chord on the changing times.
Though one risk for Qantas has been points out that over 50% of travelers from down under prefer a stopover in Asia, be it Singapore, Bangkok or Hong Kong. Dubai despite its meteoric rise has not been able to attract the demand of the Asian's destinations.

So while the field of dreams in the Middle East continues on its aviation building spree the question remains will rising geo political risk and traveler demand trend positive?
