Category: , Posted:14 Dec 2009 | 00:10 am

A new resort on the gulf of Thailand Soneva Kiri Kood is drawing international attention for it's groundbreaking eco focused development. With 29 villas and unique suites it's a hybrid of tented safari camp and a natural luxury resort.
Reclaimed wood has been used; canvass roofs and natural swimming pool throughout the project. An innovative Eco Villas prototype which is carbon neutral, mud roofs, driftwood, natural stone. Power is via wind turbine, solar panels and water recycling. Netherlands firm 24H did the resign work, which is drawing kudos from the green proponents in the hospitality industry.
Considering Phuket remains one of the regions dominant destination resort markets hopefully in the future we will see similar projects capturing the spirit of sustainability and grass roots change.
