ALERT 11,097 Thai Airways Passengers Stranded By Volcanic Cloud

According to Thai Airways International the airline has so far cancelled 31 flights to/from Europe due to the continued crises over volcano activity which has paralyzed travel within that region. To date reports say 11,097 Thai passengers have been stranded; while the airline is looking at contingency plans and additional flights once there is a resumption of service.
The shutdown of flights across the globe is the largest since the terrorist attacks of 9/11 closed US airspace. Gateway cities the region such as Singapore and Hong Kong are reporting significant number of stranded passenger who are waiting for news on when they can return to their home countries.
