It's looking to be an eventful year for new hotels opening in Phuket with some of the most anticipated launches being –
1.Westin Siray Bay Resort and Spa
This 268 room upscale resort will debut in March as the newest offering from global chain Starwood and looks to add into the islands growing east coast market.
2.Andara Resort and Villas
Combine the genius of Allan Zeman along with a prime ocean view location at the start of Kamala's Millionaires Mile, throw in an all new relocated SILK Restaurant and the 37 key property which has a grand opening in mid February looks to turn heads in the luxury market.
3.Centara Grand Beach Resort
Located directly on a white sand beach on the north end of Karon, this 262 room hotel which will start taking guests within the first half of 2010 looks to be a tough competitor for the aging Le Meriden Patong Resort given its prime location.
4.B-Lay Tong
On the northern part of Patong's beach road, this 125 room property is being compared to stylish Twinpalms. With a full opening in January under the management of Kevin Beauvais boutique chain InVision this hotel looks to move the bar up a notch in this busy neighborhood.
5.Renaissance Phuket Resort and Spa
Mai Khao's newest entry with neighbors such as JW Marriott, Sala Phuket and Anantara, this 180 key hotel will open in Q1. With its long expansive white sand beach the northern part of the island with its close proximity to the airport, east coast yachting, golf and access to scenic Phang Nga is starting to be a major destination on the island.
All in all 2010 is looking to get off to a cracking start with exciting fresh hotel products in the market.
