Phuket Airport Expansion Project Starts

Work on the nearly THB 5.8 billion expansion of Phuket International airport which will double capacity within 4 years has started.
A Bangkok based group led by Index Consultants have been appointed by AoT (Airports of Thailand).
The large scale upgrading work includes a new international terminal, upgrade of the existing one, apron enhancements, additional gates and a multi-story car park.
Handling capacity of the airport will rise from the current 6.5 million to 12.5 million upon completion.
