Phuket International Airlift By Region

Airlift continues to be a key driver of tourism to Phuket and on that noted C9 Hotelworks has untaken to analyze data from the AoT (Airports of Thailland) regarding international flights to and from Phuket.

 We have categorized these by specific regions of the work and identified key feeders of business in the chart below. Getting into the numbers what is apparent is how regional flights are pushing access while for long haul markets how the Middle East has become a hub for Western European business.

 As the data is for the full year of 2015, looking at this year for the period of January to May international and domestic passenger arrivals have grown by 19% and this is not due to the Chinese influence. Traffic is growing across the board on a proportional basis.

 Today I looked at airlift data just released by Bali Discovery and it was interesting to note that the Island of the Gods international passenger arrivals for the first five months of 2016 was 19.7% which mirrors Phuket.
