Phuket Nears Total Lockdown

Phuket’s only connected artery to the mainland, the Sarasin Bridge has been closed to all traffic except government vehicles and those carrying essential supplies like food, gas and medical supplies.

CAAT (Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand) has ordered a shutdown of Phuket International Airport from 10thto 30thApril.

Between now and the 10th, there remain limited flights to Bangkok on Thai Smile, Nok Air and  Thai Vietjet. Thai AirAsia stop flying today. So between now and the 10ththere are three airlines flying to Bangkok.

Marine vessels going inter-province and internationally have also been closed off from entering Phuket.

All beaches have been restricted from public use. 

For those readers not here, supermarkets, gas stations and take-away food from restaurants are still available.
