Phuket Tourism "By The Numbers" At AMCHAM Event

How are Phuket's hotels really performing in the current challenging market conditions? On Friday October 30th the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) Greater Phuket Chapter has organized a tourism event at the Outrigger Laguna Phuket led by STR Global's Area Director Asia Pacific Jesper Palmqvist. STR is the leading global performance indicator for hotels and showcased at the event will be a look into the past, present and forward outlook for the island, by presenting STR's substantial data.
Be it the Chinese economic crisis or else the Russian rouble decline, disruptive events continue to pressure Phuket hotel rates. What about the great debate over chasing rates or occupancy? Mark Simmons, Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Vice President Sales and Marketing for Asia Pacific will join Jesper on stage and lead a discussion, providing insight into strategy in a volatile marketplace.
Registration for the event begins at 4:30 p.m at the Outigger Laguna Phuket Similan Ballroom with the session running from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission is open to the public and is THB 100 for non-members . Networking drinks will follow.
