Radisson Brands Park Inn

Category: Hotels, Posted:07 Jul 2010 | 06:00 am

Leading hotel chain Radisson with Rezidor Hotel Group has announced a rebranding of their Park Inn midscale product to Park Inn by Radisson for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
It remains somewhat unclear if this strategy will be followed in the US or Asia where Park Inn is operated by the Carlson Group who carry the Radisson, Park Plaza, and Park Inn brands. The group recently divested the Regent chain to a Taiwanese group and has gone through a series of name changes adding in the Blu and Green sub-brands to their core Radisson product.
While the name shift is not original i.e. Courtyard by Marriott or Doubletree by Hilton and Four Points by Sheraton it does give the chain impetus for growth for yet another related brand.
There are currently more than 140 Park Inn hotels worldwide and expectations are that growth in the value segment will outpace others in the chain scale given the ongoing global financial markets volatility and trend for travelers to trade down to lower cost accommodation
