The Royal Phuket Marina is embarking on a landmark 5 billion baht expansion over the next five years.
Plans call for a two hotels, condominium and dedicated kid's themed park. In addition marina facilities will be increased.
Of the two hotels, one will be 500 rooms and targeted as a family resort inclusive of a man-made beach with the second a 129 room boutique lifestyle property.
An operator announcement for the larger resort is expected in the second half of this year.
On the real estate front a 200 unit condominium is set to rise that is targeting the serviced apartment sector, while the marina will bolster capacity to 250 watercraft.
RPM (Royal Phuket Marina) which covers a 200 rai area is presently only 30% developed, hence the call to shift the offering towards a destination resort along the lines of Laguna Phuket.
