Singapore Group Takes Over Luxury Operator Capella

In a landmark deal, Singapore’s Kwee family has taken over ownership of the Capella Hotel Group.

According to an interview in Hotels Magazine online founder Horst Schulze who is also credited with driving Ritz-Carlton into an international icon has decided to step away from Capella.

The Kwees who control leading Singapore property development firm Pontiac Land are set to grow the group under the leadership of Nicholas Clayton, from a Singapore base.

Capella also has a second hotel brand Solis and their current regional portfolio includes operating properties in Singapore and Shanghai, with a pipeline that features Sydney, Bali, Dusseldorf, Bangkok and Maldives.
