Singapore Restaurants Hop On Paid Water

On a recent trip to Singapore last week I read a local media piece on the rising trend of restaurants charging for water.
Cited as driving the trend was the surge in manpower costs, increases in water costs, and potential loss in drink sales.
With a reputation as one of Asia's most expensive destinations, the added cost of water is not likely to sit well with visitors.
Though one of my own personal dislikes remains the Down Under practice in Australia of charging for bread at sit-down dining establishments.
Indeed there is no such thing as a free meal these days.
