Thai Air Launch Creates Brand Name Confusion

Category: Tourism, Posted:23 Apr 2010 | 06:00 am

Upstart Thai Air looks to cloud the skies with brand name confusion with national carrier Thai Airways once in launches in the new few months. Actually TAH (Thai Air) has some common shareholders as existing carrier Orient Thai and its affiliate One-Two-Go.
The later airline is remembered for its crash on the resort island which saw 89 casualties in 2007 and has resulted in considerable class legal action.
It's been reported that Thai Air will focus on domestic and short haul regional business. What is certain though is that the close connection is likely to cause considerable confusion amongst travelers and could see a potential dispute with Thai Airways over its brand name likeness.
