Thai AirAsia X Ready To Rumble

Category: Tourism, Posted:21 Feb 2014 | 06:00 am

The expansion of Thai AirAsia into the longer haul X -brand with their Bangkok hub at Don Mueang airport has been given the green light by the government.
It's understood the upstart is now applying for airport slots and other operating permits.
With the carrier focusing on long-haul routes Bangkok will be a second hub after Kuala Lumpur and will serve incoming short haul flights and convert to longer destinations.
Industry experts are forecasting that this move will create a whole new competitive landscape for the low-cost carrier in competing with legacy airlines such as Thai Airways International.
