Thai Muang Best Greater Phuket West Coast Beach

Category: Tourism, Posted:09 Aug 2010 | 06:00 am

Thailand's Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment's watchdog organization the Pollution Control Department has ranked the country's beaches on a star rating basis.
Only six beaches in the nation were awarded 5 star status with Greater Phuket's Thai Muang on the west coast Andaman sea securing a spot. Also included were four in Krabi province and one in Satun.
Despite its high profile as a world class resort destination most of Phuket's own signature beaches ranked only at 2 or 3 stars. Pollution and high levels of bacteria were noted in Patong, Rawai and Ao Po.
thephuketinsider.com spoke to officials at the Department and obtained a complete list of the results which we are happy to share on request, just drop us an email.
