Thailand Sri Lanka Hotel Connection

Category: Hotels, Posted:14 Mar 2012 | 06:00 am

Today I'll be moderating a session about the rising fortunes of Sri Lanka's hospitality sector at the HICAP Update Conference in Singapore.
It's interesting to see Thailand's hotel players moving into the country, with the recent announcement by Onyx(formerly Amari) about two Ozo branded projects in Colombo and Galle.
Working with the developer Sino Lanka Hotels Holdings, both hotels are targeted to be in the market by the end of next year.
Meanwhile Bill Heinecke's Minor Hotel Group already has a joint venture with two properties in the pipeline.
And viewing other international player's Shangri-La has broken ground on their second project in the country in Hambantotoa.
A city hotel in Colombo is already underway with construction started.
