TRAVEL BUZZ WORDS Poorism

Category: Tourism, Posted:28 Mar 2010 | 06:00 am

No its not one of those obscure Indian religions, nor a Middle Eastern Dialect but 'Poorism' is one of today's emerging niche travel segments. It's a fairly new market which self proclaims itself to promote social consciousness, cultural enrichment and provide revenue into low level economic areas.
Poorism does not require a long haul plane ticket and passport but in many developed countries trips to inner city ghettos and slums are high on the agenda. There remain many views on the subject from those who would condemn the high living seagulls down and out for a day. While for others it allows an opportunity to get in touch with the greater world and perhaps the path may lead to larger involvement in charitable causes.
Just in case you wanted to get in on the ground level though please note someone has already taken the .com site and is up and pushing an array of Indian trips.
