TRAVEL TRENDS Voluntourism

Category: Tourism, Posted:27 Jul 2011 | 06:00 am

Tourism is increasingly targeting those who want experiences versus baking under the sun on some tropical beach for a week and returning like a red beet back home.
Doing good or at least trying to put a positive stamp on going local is becoming more targeted to destination management companies, hotel groups and travel sites who are looking to tap into the long tail of travel.
For now, those looking for such experiences need to understand a wide array of the good, the bad and the ugly currently exist in the upstart sector so do a bit of homework and build up a bit of good karma on your next holiday.
