Upstart Thai Tiger Airways Hitting Phuket

The media is awash with stories about the recently announced tie up between Thai Airways International and Tiger Airways in a new budget carrier.
Plans call for an initial eight routes which include direct service between Phuket and Bangkok and also from the island to Chiang Mai.
Other destinations from its Suvarnabhumi hub are tentatively set for Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Chennai, Shenzhen and Macau. For tourism Phuket it's important to see airlift increases into the China and Indian markets which are steadily rising in visitor arrivals.
