Back in 2007 the city of Paris introduced a concept of urban bicycle stations where tourists and locals could rent the two wheels transport.
Be it by the hour, day or week or even up to a year, the options include going from station to station and then later picking up a new bike as needed.
It's a revolving concept that has continued to grow over the years, now even springing up a car rental scheme Autolib.
While Phuket's roadways continue to be increasingly congested, there are few planning initiatives for bikeways on the island.
Certainly with its green ambition human powered transport needs to be higher on the island's agenda.
