On a recent trip to Bangkok I stayed at the Aloft on Sukhumvit 11, where key cards have been binned and mobile devices rule.
Using a system called Fingi, which is a handheld touch device, all room functions are able to be accessed,
This includes lighting including mood settings, aircon, and television.
Additionally in room services are able to be accessed as are local concierge assistance.
So first we had room keys, than key cards and going forward in the wired world its now mobile connectivity.
What next?
