Wynn Macau Empire In Heated Dispute

Category: Tourism, Posted:27 Feb 2012 | 06:00 am

One of the stories to watch in the coming days is the legal dispute between Steve Wynn and his Japanese investor Kazuo Okada.
This tale looks to trail all over Asia with Wynn Macau's Vice Chairman Allan Zeman being quoted in the international press, and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) being citied.
In a nutshell Okada had his shareholding forcibly redeemed by Wynn after alleged payments to PACGOR came to light. The Japanese investor is building a multi-billion dollar gaming project in Manila.
Looks like a large-scale legal battle is in the works. Perhaps Thailand might be better off not having the legalized gaming for the moment given the industry's hard-nosed proposition.
