Chiang Mai Bates Motel To Be Razed

Category: Hotels, Posted:27 May 2012 | 13:07 pm

Thailand's very own version of Bates Motel, the Downtown Inn in Chiang Mai has been shuttered.
The hotel owners will raise the property and according to the Bangkok Post see the site redeveloped into an upscale hotel.
Last year four deaths in rapid succession occurred in the hotel and the cause remains questionable to this day.
Pesticide has been blamed for three of the incidents but the conclusion remains unsubstantiated.
Reportedly the WHO (World Health Organization) cited toxins but there remains no exact explanation as to how these resulted in the fatalities.
