Indian Low Cost Carrier Surge To Thailand

Category: Tourism, Posted:17 Aug 2011 | 06:00 am

Despite a rising tide of high profile Indian weddings over the past few years, the forecasted landslide of travelers from the subcontinent has yet to reach epic proportions.
Most of the inbound market from India has been centralized in Bangkok and to a certain extent Pattaya.
All of this is expected to change over the next 12-18 months with the opening of the international skies to the countries low cost carriers.
Previously restrictions were in place with each airline having a 5 year moratorium on domestic service.
Now an influx of new flights are coming at a fast and furious rate with LCC IndiGo hitting Thai airpace in October.
Expect new announcements before now and the end of the year on dynamic changes on Indian airlift to Bangkok and Thailand.
