Koh Lanta Mainland Connection Approved

Category: Tourism, Posted:26 Sep 2016 | 14:24 pm

There was a time when getting to nearby Koh Lanta from Krabi required boarding and getting off two ferries.

In April of this year a bridge connection between Lanta Noi and Lanta islands was completed, so travel time to the destination has been improved.

According to the Phuket Gazette, the construction of a second bridge to the mainland that will easily speed up access to nearby Krabi has been approved by the government.

That’s the good news, while the not so good news is the bridge is expected to be completed only in 2023.

Krabi is in the midst of a tourism surge back of skyrocketing arrivals at the international airport hence longer term Koh Lanta looks to benefit from some heavy spin from the growing tourism numbers.
