Set on Emerald Bay the development consists of 87 hotel villas and 20 residences and six unique forest homes.
According to the company they expect to open at the end of 2014, as construction is expected to commence by the end of this year.
The property is developed by an affiliate of Hong Kong's New World Group who also acquired the Rosewood chain last year for USD229.5 million.
Speaking to industry sources the group is targeting the top end of the island's accommodation market and expects to trade in the luxury tier with Amanpuri, Trisara, Sri Panwa and Andara.
In terms of luxury real estate, the residences range from two to nine bedroom ultra villas and the six hideaway homes are configured into two and three bedroom units.
While originally the master planner for the project was noted Thai design Lek Bunnag, well known Singapore firm WOHA had been added and interiors by Bar Studio.
This particular site has a long history given it was originally to have been developed by Taiwan's Evergreen Group and later by Bangkok's Srivikorn family. Over the years both the InterContinental brand and Park Hyatt had been linked at various times.
