Author: Bill Barnett. Category: Tourism. Posted: 17th Nov 2012

A 102-year-old building at the intersection of Phuket Road and Phang Nga Road will house a heritage Baba Museum.

Located in the historic and culturally rich area of Phuket Town which is famous for Peranakan architecture, the undertaking is being headed up by the Thai Peranakan Association.

On display will be items, which have been donated by locals including apparel, furniture and art. Historical records will be given a special home for future generations.

The restoration process is currently underway in the Sino-Portuguese building and the organization is still sourcing public funding to complete the entire project.
