The Year of Hotel Brand Swapping

Category: Hotels, Posted:15 Feb 2011 | 06:00 am

Forget those wife swapping key parties of the 60's and 70's the latest rage looks to be hotel owners swapping brands and management in Thailand.
Recent changes include Laguna's Sheraton for Angsana, in Bangkok Radisson Sathorn to Anantara, another Radisson on Rama 9 to Golden Tulip, Pan Pacific into Crowne Plaza and in Samui Langham for another regional brand.
As this year is set to experience the highest numbers of hotel transactions in more than a decade expect brand changes to come at lightning speed in the months ahead.
While marriage often leads to divorce, look for hotel owners to start racking up ex-wives or hotel chains at an ever increasing speed.
