Vietnam’s New Move To Liberalize Gaming

Category: Tourism, Posted:29 Jan 2017 | 11:22 am

Vietnam’s surging tourism sector is expected to see a strong uplift back of a government pivot that will  allow the domestic market to gamble in casinos.

A three year pilot program will  be implemented by mid-March, though certain restrictions apply such as a 21 year old age limit and base income requirement.

Without a doubt the news comes as a  blow to Macau, Singapore and Manila where hotels with casinos see strong demand from Vietnam.

Expect to see a series of new integrated resorts coming up in Vietnam as their country’s competitive tourism sector is rising fast.

Thailand has continued to sit on the fence on the legalized gaming issue but has to face the fact that other Southeast Asian nations  are becoming predatory to the vaunted Thai tourism sector.
